My enthusiasm for the natural world has played a central role in my life since I was a child; splashing through streams and running in meadows. A Maryland native, I spent my graduate career in the southeastern U.S. and Costa Rica in an effort to understand the impacts of man on natural ecosystems. I hope to express this coupling of man and nature through my photographs, displaying usual subjects in an unusual manner.

When shooting portraits and events I use my interest in the natural world to capture emotion using natural light and shadows.
